Heute mal etwas zum Aufwaermen (minus 20 Grad Celsius) ... ich meine natuerlich nicht Brandon, sondern das schoene Sommerwetter ;-) Brandon - hier beim Forellenangeln an unserem See - ist Brandys Mann und Emmetts Vater. Von Pferden haelt er nicht ganz so viel, dafuer managt er Ziegen (wie bereits berichtet). Brandon liebt es, allein durch die Wildnis zu ziehen so wie Grizzly Adams, der Mann aus den Bergen.
Something to heat you up (0 degrees Fahrenheit) ... of course, I don't mean Brandon but the beautiful summer weather ;-) Brandon -here trying to catch trout out of our lake - is Brandy's husband and Emmett's father. He isn't that crazy about horses but loves managing goats (see recent blog). Brandon loves to hike through the wilderness just like Grizzly Adams, the mountain man.
Brandon hat Biologie studiert. Fuer sein Diplom hat er ueber eine Schneckenart geschrieben, die von Sportanglern unabsichtlich aus Neuseeland in die Fluesse des Yellowstone Nationalparks eingeschleppt wurde und dort einen verheerenden Einfluss auf die Fauna hatte. Fuer seine Arbeit musste Brandon auch oft allein im Park zelten. Er ist zwar ein guter Schuetze, aber in Nationalparks sind Schusswaffen nicht erlaubt ... Brandon schloss nachts kaum ein Auge aus Angst vor Baeren, die nach einem leckeren Sandwich in Menschengroesse suchten.
Brandon studied biology. For his MS he wrote about snails which sports fisherman had accidentally carried from New Zealand into the rivers of Yellowstone National Park - causing dramatic changes in the ecosystem. For his studies Brandon had to camp in a tent a lot. He is an excellent shot but firearms are not permitted in national parks ... quite often Brandon did not close one eye at night in fear of bears looking for a delicious sandwich in human size.
Irgendwann moechte Brandon auch einen Doktortitel dranhaengen, aber momentan geht die Familie vor. Er und Brandy haben sich am College in Laramie getroffen. Waehrend eines Austauschsemesters auf Hawaii haben die Beiden geheiratet. Emmett ist seinem Vater wie aus dem Gesicht geschnitten (hat allerdings rote statt blonde Haare) und wird sicher auch bald Frauenherzen brechen ...
Some time Brandon would love to get his PhD but right now he is focussing on his family. He and Brandy met at college in Laramie. While studying on Hawaii for one semester, the two of them got married. Emmett looks exactly like his father (well, he's got red hair instead of blonde) and will also soon break women's hearts ...
