Mit Rena (links) find alles an ... eine Stute in der Herde ... viele Rancher ruempfen die Nase ... Stuten gelten als launig, zickig, unberechenbar. Bullshit, sage ich. Natuerlich gibt es Verhaltensunterschiede, aber wir haben mittlerweile acht Stuten, die alle gut zu reiten sind ... auch wenn sie rossig sind, was man bei den meisten gar nicht merkt. Neben Rena sind dabei: Classy, Ginger, Stella, Chocolate, Jazz, Lady und Nellie. Wir haben begonnen, Stuten zu kaufen, weil sie so viel billiger sind, und wir haben es noch nicht bereut. Genau wie die Farbe ist mir auch das Geschlecht egal: ein gutes Pferd ist ein gutes Pferd.It all began with Rena (left) ... a mare in the herd ... many ranchers sniff at that ... mares are said to be moody, bitchy and unreliable. I say: Bullshit! There are some behavioral differences, of course, but we have eight mare now and they are all fun to ride ... even when they are in heat which we mostly don't notice. Other than Rena, there are: Classy, Ginger, Stella, Chocolate, Jazz, Lady and Nellie. We have started to buy mares because they are so much cheaper and have not regretted it, yet. The same way I don't care about color, I don't care about gender: a good horse is a good horse.
P.S. Hengste haben wir nicht, zum Einen wegen der Stuten, zum Anderen weil die - statistisch gesehen - wirklich schwieriger zu handeln sind, besondern in einem Reitgaeste-Betrieb.
P.S. We don't have stallions. The reasons: because we have mares and because stallions are - statistically - really more difficult to handle, especially in a guest riding business.
