Wie im richtigen Cowboyleben / Like in real cowboy life

Nummer 5 der Rodeo-Videos: Auch das Tie-Down-Roping ist dem richtigen Cowboyleben entlehnt. Der Reiter ropt ein Kalb, und waehrend das Pferd das Lasso straff haelt, bindet der Cowboy die Beine des Kalbs. Im wirklichen Leben kann er das Kalb jetzt mit einer Ohrmarke versehen, ihm eine Medizin geben etc.

Number 5 of the rodeo videos: The tie-down roping is based on real cowboy life as well. The rider ropes the calf and while the horse is keeping the rope tight, the cowboy ties the calf. In real life he might tag or doctor him now etc.

Die Auswahl war schwer: Die neuen Pferde heissen Whiskey (der Braune) und Scotch (der Schimmel). Danke, Tina und Tine! Die vielen anderen Namen heben wir uns fuer weitere neue Pferde auf, und die kommen bestimmt. Einige Eurer Vorschlaege konnten wir nicht nehmen, weil sie z.B. deutsch waren (koennen Amis nicht aussprechen), besser zu einer Stute passen, weil wir schon mal Pferde mit diesem Namen hatten etc.

The choice was tough: The new horses are named Whiskey (the bay) and Scotch (the gray). Thanks, Tina and Tine! All the other names we'll keep for other new horses ... and they will come! Some of your suggestions did not work because i.e. they were German (Americans may not be able to pronounce them), were better for a mare, were names we already had (for horses we don't have anymore) etc.
