Wyoming im Juni ist das Paradies (wenn man mal von den abendlichen Gewittern und dem Strassenbau absieht ;-) Das Gras ist gruen, der Himmel blau, ueberall sieht man Kaelber, Laemmer, Fohlen und andere Tierbabies. Die Pferde sind voller Energie und schimmern in der Fruehsommersonne. Es ist die Zeit der Brandings und Rodeos. Und ja, man kann schon im See baden ;-)

Wyoming in June is paradise (except for the evening thunderstorms and road construction ;-) The grass is green, the sky blue, you see calves, lambs, foals and other baby critters everywhere. The horses are full of energy and are shimmering in the summer sun. It's the time of brandings and rodeos. And yes, one can already swim in the lake ;-)

Zu Beginn der Reitsaison hatte ich einfach zu viel zu tun, und dann habe ich es nicht mehr geschafft, aufzuholen. Jetzt nach Wochen endlich wieder ein neuer Blog. Das wird mir hoffentlich nicht wieder passieren. Anbei viele Fotos - meine, aber auch die unserer Gaeste und Mitarbeiter.

Hier machen sich zwei kleine Maedels bekannt, das Zicklein ist nur wenige Tage juenger als das Lamm. Im Hintergrund sonnt sich ein Huhn. Manche Leute koennen sich an Menschenbabies nicht satt sehen, aber ich - sorry - schwaerme fuer Tierbabies. Das Lamm sieht irgendwie harmloser aus, und so ist es auch: Ziegen haben es faustdick hinter den Ohren ;-)

Here two little girls get acquainted. The goat kid is only a few days younger than the lamb. In the background a chicken is taking in the sun. Some poeple cannot get enough of human babies but I -sorry - love animal babies. The lamb looks pretty harmless compared with the goat and that is right: Goats are sly old dogs ;-)

Brandon hat die Ziegen und Ziegenboecke vom Devils Tower zur Ranch gebracht (und mit ihnen einen weiteren Hund, Jessie), da er nicht mehr durch den Schnee zu den Tieren gelangen konnte. 75 fehlen aber noch. Brandon hat das Schneemobil mitgenommen, um heute nach ihnen zu suchen. In ein paar Tagen soll es wieder bitterkalt werden, und er muss sie vorher finden. Von den Raubtieren, denen sie schutzlos ausgeliefert sind, mal ganz zu schweigen.

Brandon moved the goat does and bucks from Devils Tower to the ranch (and with them another dog, Jessie). He could not reach the goats anymore due to the snow. 75 are still missing. Today he took the snow mobile to look for them. In a few days the temperatures will drop again and he has to find them before. Not to mention that they don't have any protection from the abundant predators.
