Wace beim Ropen / Wace roping

Am Mittwoch wurden unsere Jaehrlingsrinder angeliefert ... frisch aus dem Feedlot. Sie freuen sich wie Teenager ueber ihre Freiheit und springen ueber alle Zaeune ... Crew und Gaeste sind staendig im Einsatz. Ebenfalls am Mittwoch fuhren Angie und ich nach Belle Fourche zum Schmied, um Stella (Diagnose ?), Savannah (Zwangshuf), Jet (duenne Sohle), Leo (Hufrolle) und Vegas (Hufrehe) beschlagen zu lassen. On Wednesday our yearling cattle were shipped in ... fresh from the feedlot. They are enjoying their new freedom like teenagers and are jumping all fences ... crew and guests stay pretty busy. Also on Wednesday, Angie and I drove to Belle Fourche to meet the farrier. Stella (diagnosis ?), Savannah (too small hooves), Jet (thin soles), Leo (navicular) and Vegas (founder) were shoed. Auf einer 700 Hektar grossen Koppel mit vielen Canyons und Baeumen ein paar entlaufene Jaehrlinge zu finden: Das war unsere Mission am Montag. Das Resultat: sechs Stunden im Sattel, ein Jaehrling sowie ein Bulle, der einem Nachbarn abhanden gekommen war. Viel Sonne und viel Stille ...

Finding a bunch of strayed yearlings on a 1700 acre pasture with lots of canyons and trees: That was our mission on Monday. The result: six hours in the saddle, one yearling as well as a bull which belonged to another neighbor. Lots of sunshine and silence ...
