Die vergangenen Tage wurden wieder von Rinderarbeit bestimmt. Seit Mittwoch sind auch Lorraine aus Upstate New York und Matthias und Sabine aus Deutschland dabei. Dave und Doug arbeiten daran, wie richtige Cowboys auszusehen (Betonung auf "6-pack belly"), sonst lassen ihre Frauen die Beiden nicht nach Hause kommen. Und Iris ist mittlerweile tiefenentspannt.

The last few days saw a lot of cattle work again. On Wednesday, Lorraine from Upstate New York and Matthias and Sabine from Germany joined the guest team. Dave and Doug are working on looking like "real" cowboys (which means "6-pack bellies"), otherwise their wives won't let them come home. And Iris is more than relaxed.

Poco ist noch lahm, aber auf dem Weg der Besserung. Romina arbeitet fleissig mit Dun It, der sehr gut trainiert ist, aber im Gelaende noch einiges zu lernen hat. Und ich reite weiterhin Bruno, der grundsaetzlich willig, aber hin und wieder auch eigenwillig ist.

Poco is still lame but getting better. Romina is working with Dun It who is very well trained but needs more experience in our terrain. And I am still riding Bruno who is usually very willing but once in a while willful, too.

Ja, Buddy und Hannah geht es gut. Auch Gauge und den Katzen. Rita und Romina haben nicht mehr allzuviel Zeit in Wyoming uebrig und denken schon mit Wehmut an ihre Abreise. Unsere Saison endet am 13. Oktober ... und dann muss ich endlich mal die Webseite updaten.

Yes, Buddy and Hannah are fine. Gauge and the cats also. Rita and Romina don't have much time left in Wyoming and don't want to think about their departure. Our season ends October 13 ... and then I really have to update the webpage.

Brandy und ihre Familie werden auf eine Ranch in Jordan, Montana ziehen und nicht wieder nach Sued-Dakota zurueckkehren. Wir planen, sie an Weihnachten zu besuchen.

Brandy and her family are moving onto a ranch in Jordan, Montana and won't come back to South Dakota. We are planning on visiting them for Christmas.

Herrliches Wetter, auch wenn wir im Schlamm versinken. Brandy, Mike und ich haben heute morgen mit den Pferden gearbeitet, aber wie so oft hatte ich meine Kamera vergessen. Und natuerlich werde ich Euch auch noch Mike und seinen Hund Stubby sowie unseren neuen Schreiner, Gary, und seinen Hund Mimi genauer vorstellen. Aber anbei erstmal ein paar Fotos, die ich auf dem Weg von Heike zu uns aufgenommen habe. Wo sonst als in Wyoming bekommt man auf dem Weg zum Nachbarn so viel tolle Natur (Sandsteinklippen, Devils Tower) und Homesteads zu sehen (zum Vergroessern einfach auf die Fotos klicken)?!

Beautiful weather even though we drown in mud. Brandy, Mike and I worked horses this morning but as so often I forgot my camera. Of course, I will show more pictures of Mike and his dog Stubby soon, as well as of our new carpenter, Gary, and his dog Mimi. Attached a few photos I took on the way home from Heike. Where else than in Wyoming can you see such breath taking nature (rimrock and Devils Tower) and homesteads just on the way to the neighbors (to enlarge click on the photos)?
