Brandy hat ihr Baby Garrett bei einer Hebamme im Wasserbad entbunden. Abends waren die Beiden schon wieder zu Hause. Irgendwie habe ich gestern vergessen, ein Foto vom Vater zu machen, der auch begeistert war ... na, vielleicht schicken die Eltern ja mal ein paar Bilder.

Brandy had Garrett in the water at a midwife's house. By evening the two were already home again. Somehow I forgot to take a pic of the father who is thrilled as well ... well, hopefully the parents will send a few more photos.

Ach ja, Nick und ich sind wieder Opa und Oma.

Hitze / Heat

Abkuehlung in der Sommerhitze: Lisa auf Tucker (l.), Antje auf Pep (v.) und Sarah auf Leftie ... der kurz darauf in ein tiefes Loch sinkt (da hatte ich aber die Kamera nicht mehr in der Hand). /

Die wichtigste Nachricht zuerst: Brandy und Brandon sind heute wieder Eltern geworden. Emmetts Bruder heisst Garrett und brauchte nur eine Stunde, um das Licht der Welt zu erblicken. Fotos habe ich noch keine.

The most important news first: Brandy and Brandon became parents again today. Emmett's brother is named Garrett and only took one hour to arrive into this world. Don't have photos, yet.

Waehrend Tav unsere Schweizer Neuankoemmlinge Rahel, Baerbel und Alexandra mit ihren Pferden bekannt machte, unternahm ich mit Tine, Sabine, Lisa, Sarah und Antje einen schoenen Sonntagmorgenritt bei ueber 30 Grad. Dori hatte frei, Barbara maehte Heu, und Linda war am Kochen und Putzen. Morgen ist grosser Feiertag in den USA, und wir fahren mal wieder alle zu einem Rodeo ;-)

While Tav introduced Swiss newcomers Rahel, Baerbel and Alexandra to their horses, I took Tine, Sabine, Lisa, Sarah and Antje on a fun Sunday morning ride with temps in the 90ies. Dori had off, Barbara was swathing (cutting hay) and Linda took care of cooking and cleaning. Tomorrow is a big holiday in the USA and again all of us will go to a rodeo ;-)

Nick hat sich ein neues Pferd gekauft. Sie hat noch keinen Namen (Foto unten). Als wir vom Ranchrodeo am Freitag nach Hause kamen, fanden wir einen Waschbaeren im Huehnerstall. Er hatte bereits zwei Huehner getoetet, bevor Tav ihn erschiessen konnte.Vor ein paar Wochen hatte ein Fuchs bereits 5 Huehner getoetet ...

Nick bought himself a new horse. She does not have a name, yet (photo below). When we came home from the ranch rodeo on Friday, we found a racoon in the chicken shed. He had already killed two chickens before Tav could shoot him. A few weeks ago a fox had killed 5 chickens ...

Lernen, lernen, lernen ... nach einem langen Tag der Konzentration genossen Stella und ich einen kleinen Ausritt mit einer anderen Kursteilnehmerin. Im Hintergrund sieht man die Arena, in der wir arbeiten, und die Bighorn Mountains. Freue mich schon, mein neues Wissen zu Hause anzuwenden.

Lerning, learning, learning ... after a long day of concentration Stella and I enjoyed a trail ride with another clinic participant. In the background you can see the arena in which we are working and the Bighorn Mountains. Looking forward to apply my new knowledge at home.

Okay, die neue Kamera ist da, jetzt muss ich mich nur noch damit vertraut machen. Anbei Bilder, die Gaeste gemacht haben. Nun sind auch Jasmin, Claudia, Gabi und Mandy wieder weg. Alessandra kam schon am Mittwoch. Und am Samstag reisten Lisa, Tine, Sabine, Sarah und Antje an. Thomas konnte dieses Jahr leider nicht kommen.

Okay, got the new camera. Now I just have to learn how to use it. Attached photos which guests took. Jasmin, Claudia, Gabi and Mandy have left. Allessandra already arrived on Wednesday. And on Saturday Lisa, Tine, Sarah, Sabine and Antje came in. Thomas could not make it this year.

Samstag bin ich Richtung Buffalo, Wyoming abgefahren. Mit meiner Stute Stella. Wir werden an einem 4-taegigen Parelli-Seminar teilnehmen. Details und Fotos folgen. Bis Mittwoch gibt es keine Fotos von New Haven.

I left for Buffalo, Wyoming on Saturday. With my mare Stella. We are going to participate in a 4-day Parelli class. Details and photos will follow. No pics of New Haven till Wednesday.

Brandy ist hochschwanger, und wir warten auf Nachricht, dass das Baby unterwegs ist. Sie, Nikki (auch wieder schwanger), Emmett und Bridger haben uns letztens besucht ... warte noch auf Fotos.

Brandy is super pregnant and we are just waiting to hear that the baby is coming. She, Nikki (also pregnant again), Emmett and Bridger visited us a few days ago ... still waiting for photos.

Die Tage vergehen ... Vanessa und Chris wollten noch nicht weg, aber gestern ging ihr Flieger. Dafuer kam Alessandra. Und auch Barbara, die eine Woche in Bayern verbracht hatte. Am vergangenen Wochenende waren ja alle auf dem Ranchrodeo in Sturgis und spaeter in Deadwood, wo Linda wieder einmal Geld gewonnen hat. Dieses Mal fast 300 Dollar fuer einen Einsatz von 5 Dollar.

The days go by ... Vanessa and Chris did not want to leave but their plane left yesterday. Alessandra came. As well as Barbara who had spent a week in Bavaria. Last weekend everyone went to the ranch rodeo in Sturgis and the to Deadwood where Linda won money again. This time close to $300 for $5 she risked.

Wir haben viel Rinder- und Zaunarbeit auf der Ranch. Nick bereitet die Traktoren auf die Heuernte vor. Und Linda und Barbara fangen demnaechst mit dem Unkrautsprayen an. Ich werde am Samstag auf mein viertaegiges Parelli-Seminar fahren, aber vorher werde ich hoffentlich noch einen neuen Blog online stellen.

We got lots of cattle and fence work. Nick is preparing the tractors for haying. And Linda and Barbara are starting to spray weeds. I will go on my 4-day Parelli clinic on Saturday but hopefully I will post another blog entry before.

Am Freitag haben wir Brandon geholfen, Rinder in der weiten Praerie Sued-Dakotas zu sortieren. 360 Grad Unendlichkeit. Am Samstag sind dann leider Britta und Annett schon wieder abgereist. Wir haben Mandy aus Neuseeland in Rapid City abgeholt. Heute morgen haben wir ganz frueh Rinder getrieben, weil wir um 11 Uhr im Auto nach Sturgis sitzen mussten. Dort findet ein Ranchrodeo statt. Ich bin zu Hause geblieben, werde Euch aber die Foto der anderen in einem der naechsten Blogs zeigen. Meine Kamera ist kaputt ... muss eine neue kaufen. Bin fuer Tipps dankbar (gute Kompaktkameras).

On Friday we helped Brandon sort cattle in the wide prairie of South Dakota. 360 degrees of endlessness. On Saturday Britta and Annett had to leave. We picked up New Zealander Mandy from Rapid City. Early this morning we moved cattle, we had to leave for Sturgis at 11 am to see a ranch rodeo. I stayed home but will show photos our guests took in one of the next blogs. My camera is broke ... have to buy a new one. Any advice for a good compact camera?
